Is it possible to hook up a 56k modem to an actual phone to get internet through

My pc has a built in 56k modem. I have broadband, but in case we somehow can't access it, I want to set up a dial-up connection too. i have a net zero cd and a phone right next to my pc. Is there a chance I could connect a phone cord to the phone, that way the pc will get internet through the phone's connection?

If the modem has 2 connections, one is to the phone line and the other to the telephone so both work.  If there is only one you just need a line splitter to connect both.  Don't try to do broadband and modem together to get more speed - won't work.
